How to Create Different Page Numbering in a Document Using Word 2007.

First is to create two different sections:

Go to the last word of “Abstract” then

Go to Page Layout –> Breaks –>Section Breaks — Next Page

Double Click on the Header Area and you can see the Section appear. Header Section 1 for the first portion (from title to abstract) and Header Section 2 for the second portion (dedication to Table of Contents page 2).

Then, turn off the Link to Previous
Go to Header & Footer tools —> Design Tab —> Link to Previous

When you start adding a page number on Header Section 2 (dedication), it won’t appear on those on Header Section 1(title to abstract). From there, you can personalize the page number on what you want to appear as its page number. For Dedication we want it Roman numeral V.

While on Dedication page —> Go to Page Number —> Format Page Number —> Start at Number V.
